In short: We collect almost nothing. The little we do collect (your email when you contact us) we use to reply to you and nothing else. We never sell, share, or rent your data to anyone. You can ask us to delete it any time.
1. Who we are
Beachdog Solutions ("we", "us", "our") builds custom apps for small and mid-size businesses. We're the data controller responsible for handling any personal data you give us through this website.
Contact: info@beachdogsolutions.com
Website: beachdogsolutions.com
Our company is in the process of being registered in Hong Kong. Full company details (registration number and registered address) will be added to this policy once registration is complete.
2. What data we collect
When you fill out our contact form
The form on our homepage collects:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your company name (optional)
- The type of project you're interested in
- The message you write describing your needs
When you book a call via Cal.com
Our scheduling tool (Cal.com) collects your name, email, and the time slot you book. Cal.com is a separate provider with its own privacy policy: cal.com/privacy
When you visit the site
We do not currently use analytics or tracking. If we add analytics in the future (we're considering Plausible, a privacy-friendly tool), we'll update this policy and notify you here. We do not use any third-party advertising or behavioural tracking.
What we don't collect
- We don't track your browsing habits
- We don't profile you
- We don't sell your data — ever
- We don't use your data for advertising
3. Why we collect it
We only collect data for one reason: to respond to your enquiry and discuss whether we can help you build something.
Specifically:
- We use your email and name to reply to you
- We use your company name and message to understand what you're trying to build
- We use your booked time slot to attend the call you scheduled
Legal basis under GDPR: Article 6(1)(b) — taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract — and Article 6(1)(a) — your consent, given when you submit the contact form.
4. How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions for as long as it takes to respond to you and complete any project we work on together. After that:
- If we never end up working together, we delete your data within 12 months of your last contact with us.
- If we work together, we keep project-related data (invoices, contracts, project files) for 7 years for tax and accounting compliance, then delete it.
- You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time (see Section 7).
5. Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your data. Period. We share it only with the small number of tools we use to run our business:
- Formspree — our contact form provider. They process form submissions and forward them to us. Their privacy policy.
- Cal.com — our scheduling provider. Used only when you book a call. Their privacy policy.
- Email provider (Namecheap Private Email) — hosts our company email so we can read and reply to your messages.
- Tax authorities — only if legally required (e.g. for invoicing on completed projects).
We never share your data with marketers, advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party that isn't directly part of running our business.
6. Cookies and tracking
This site does not use any cookies for tracking or advertising. The only cookies set are technical cookies required for the site to function (such as session cookies set by Cal.com when you book a call).
We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking tool. If this changes in the future, we'll update this section and let you know clearly before any tracking begins.
7. Your rights under GDPR
If you're in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — you can ask us what data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — you can ask us to delete your data
- Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to stop using your data while we sort out an issue
- Right to data portability — you can ask us to send you your data in a portable format
- Right to object — you can object to certain types of processing
- Right to withdraw consent — if processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it any time
- Right to lodge a complaint — you can complain to your local data protection authority if you're unhappy with how we handle your data
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@beachdogsolutions.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data:
- All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS)
- Our email and form providers use industry-standard security
- Access to your data is limited to people who need it to do their work
- We don't store payment information on our servers
No system is 100% secure. If a data breach affects you, we'll notify you and the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours, as required by GDPR.
9. International data transfers
Some of our service providers (Formspree, Cal.com) are based outside the European Economic Area. When your data is transferred to these providers, we rely on:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
- The providers' own GDPR compliance commitments
Once our company is fully registered in Hong Kong, we'll update this section to reflect the legal basis for transfers between the EEA and Hong Kong.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll notify anyone who has previously contacted us by email.
11. Contact us
If you have any questions about this privacy policy, your data, or how we handle it, email us at info@beachdogsolutions.com.
We try to respond within 48 hours, usually faster.
